WYLAND
Biographical Information
Wyland (born 1956) is a native of Detroit, where he attended the Center for Creative Studies. A diver and environmentalist as well as a successful marine artist, he sculpts and paints in all media. In 1981 Wyland began his series of life-size WHALING WALLS, dedicated to saving our planet's oceans. His goal is to complete 100 murals throughout the world during his lifetime. So far, 34 are scattered in five U.S. states (California, Hawaii, Washington, Florida, and Michigan), Canada, Japan, Australia, and France. He is based in both Laguna Beach and Hawaii.
