Biographical Information

Wyatt (born 1956) made his professional debut at age 12, winning first place and $200 at a sidewalk art contest called the Watts Chalk-In. He studied with Charles White at Otis Art Institute, then received a B.F.A. in painting, sculpture, and graphic arts from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1978. In 1991 he completed a mural inside the courthouse in Lompoc, near Santa Barbara. He will be creating a mural for the Metro Rail Orange Line station at Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, due to be accessible to the public in around 1995. Wyatt exhibits his paintings and drawings regularly in solo and group shows throughout southern California. He sits on the board of directors of the Social and Public Art Resource Center.
