ANN ALEXANDRA WOLKEN
Biographical Information
Wolken (born 1947) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Venice since 1973. She earned a B.A. in art from Smith College (1968) and an M.F.A. in painting from the University of Oregon (1973). She considers herself primarily a children's muralist. Over a three-year period (1988-1991) she helped produce 12 portable murals with the children of the Boys and Girls Club of Venice. In 1991 she painted a mural for the Radiation Therapy Program of the Pediatric Division of Kaiser Permanente.
