RAVENNA MOSAIC COMPANY

Biographical Information

The Company was founded in St. Louis, Missouri, in the early 1920s as a subsidiary of the German firm Puhl & Wagner. Ravenna relocated to New York City in 1928, executing many projects there before returning to St. Louis in 1940. All ties with Germany were permanently broken at the outbreak of World War II. In Los Angeles, Ravenna executed several murals for Millard Sheets and Richard Haines. The company closed in 1988, when the son of founder Paul Heuduck died.
