DENIS O'CONNOR
Biographical Information
Irish-born O'Connor studied art in the United Kingdom before immigrating to Claremont in 1959. From 1960-1963 he was Millard Sheet's assistant mosaicist. In 1963 he formed his own company, specializing in the execution and installation of large-scale mosaic murals. For the next 19 years he worked in association with Millard Sheets to produce approximately 80 mosaics for the California branches of Home Savings of America. Since 1983 Home Savings has commissioned Denis O'Connor Mosaics to create mosaics for its offices throughout the United States. He also has done projects for other organizations and individuals in southern California.
