Biographical Information
Mortimer (born 1941) studied at Occidental College (B.A. 1963) and worked for several years as a graphic artist before becoming a full-time mural painter in 1987. In addition to his many public and private local projects, Mortimer has done murals in Lompoc and Susanville, California, as well as a temporary promotional mural for the State of California on Bloomingdale's Department Store in New York City. Exhibitions of his mural-related drawings, sketches, and paintings have been held in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and Lompoc. He is on the board of directors of the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles, and lives in Santa Monica.
