DAVID LOPEZ
Biographical Information
After growing up in East Los Angeles, Lopez attended Art Center College of Design, majoring in illustration. Since 1970 he has worked in the movie industry as a production painter, scenic artist, and background animation artist doing murals for such films as Batman, Lethal Weapon, and Michael Jackson commercials. In 1985 Lopez and longtime friend Robert Arenivar did a painting of the Hispanic Medal of Honor winner that hangs in the Pentagon. They also did a mural together that same year on an East Los Angeles bar of the history of Mexico that was destroyed in 1991 or 1992. Lopez lives in Saugus in northern Los Angeles County.
