RICHARD HARO


Biographical Information

As a youth growing up in East Los Angeles, Haro's first use of neighborhood walls was as a graffiti writer. He did most of his murals during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Primarily self-taught, he also studied art at East Los Angeles College. Haro was one of the first artists to exhibit his paintings at Goez Art Studio and Gallery. Later he taught art to mental patients, then drove a truck. Currently he lives in Upland, in San Bernardino County, and paints portraits.
