GRACE CLEMENTS
Biographical Information
Born in Oakland, California, Clements (1905-1969) studied art privately in New York for five years before settling in Los Angeles in 1931. She was part of Los Angeles' small Post-Surrealist movement founded and led by Lorser Feitelson and Helen Lundeberg. Clements had a solo exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1931, and she participated in group shows there in 1939 and 1944. She left southern California in the late 1940s.
