NORMAN CHAMBERLAIN


Biographical Information

Chamberlain (born 1887) studied early Dutch painters, decorative work, and mural painting in Holland, then moved to California from Michigan in 1921, finding almost immediate success under the patronage of Mrs. Henry Huntington, wife of the railroad tycoon and art collector. Chamberlain executed several architectural studies for her. He did a New Deal mural for the post office in Selma, California.
