CARLOS CALLEJO
Biographical Information
Born in El Paso, Texas, Callejo lived in Los Angeles for more than 30 years before moving back to Texas in 1986. He studied art at Otis Art Institute and California State University, Los Angeles, doing his first mural in 1972. In recent years he has done several murals in El Paso, including a major commission for the city's new courthouse. During the mid-1990s Callejo was awarded an artist residency in Spoleto, Italy, to study the work of 14th- and 15th-century fresco masters. He lives in Anthony, Texas.
