GLENNA BOLTUCH AVILA


Biographical Information

Avila (born 1953) is a native Angeleno. She studied art at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A. 1975) and the University of New Mexico (M.A. 1976). She was a founding member of the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles. From 1977 to 1990 she supervised the local Summer Youth Employment Training Program. She also directed the Citywide Mural Project for six years (1977-1983) and headed the city-owned Los Angeles Photography Center until mid-1991, when she took a job running the community arts partnership program for Cal Arts in Valencia. Her work has been exhibited in more than 20 shows throughout southern California, as well as in Albuquerque and New York.
