Description
The mural is about honoring the traditions of indigenous peoples,
particularly in the Americas. It charts the passage of time throughout the day and the seasons. There is a Guatemalan back-strap weaver. In the North, a Nez Perce bag flows into an Osage blanket, and towards the East, an eagle dancer of the Plains dances on a Navajo rug. The Mayans and Aztecs represent the traditions of the South, and the Chumash depict those of the West. The faces are portraits of the artist’s students.
