Description
Four eras of California history after the arrival of the Europeans: Discovery, Building of the Missions, Americanization, and the Founding of Los Angeles. Themes of the smaller canvases include art, industry, commerce, education, earth, air, water, and fire. Also, inside the dome are geometric patterns painted by Julian E. Garnsey. The library will return to this site in 1993, after major restoration is completed.
